Portzelki: Frying in the New Year

Here's the annual New Year's "cookie" at our house - jawohl!

This "cookie" is really like a raisin doughnut. Barry likes them sans the raisins.

Portzelki - a doughnut made at midnight to ring in the New Year. Since it's a push to stay up (let alone cook at that hour) these have turned into New Year's morning treats made while New Year's Day parade airs in the background.

This tends to conclude the holiday food festivities. Shortly after this we move to a vegetable soup detox program for the week to recover from the holidays.How about you?
